Don’t miss the UCA’s main exhibit and poster sale opening Friday, October 2nd 2009. The 16th CIIPE features works by artists from more than 35 countries reflecting international perspectives on political, social and cultural issues. With this biennial exhibition, Colorado State University’s Department of Art exhibits outstanding examples of poster design, while bringing an understanding of global visual communication to an American audience. This exhibit prompts international understanding, tolerance, and dialogue through the graphic arts.

Rachel Hibbard : “365 Days”
Jan 29 – February 24
Opening Reception Jan 29th – 4-6pm

The Curfman Gallery starts off the new year with work by Portland based artist, Rachel Hibbard. Hibbard’s mixed media drawings in her 365 Days series offer the viewer a panoramic landscape, a world-scape. The series references the Gregorian calendar, but allows for creative irregularities. Hibbard’s calendar is not seasonal; rather, it acknowledges a progression of days that clump into themed months that progress through a spectrum of colors. In each grouping, imagery combines into constellations with recurrent images acting as refrains.
